There's An Eagle in There Somewhere

How many times have we said that about a round?  Well, believe it or not, there really is an eagle in the photo above underneath all that snow.  She lives in Decorah, Iowa and is currently sitting on her nest taking care of keeping two eggs warm.  The father shares all household duties with her (Director, are you listening?).  Eagles mate for life and last year this couple had three baby eagles.  The eggs are about the size of ...wait for it....a golf ball, except they are oval.  If you would like to see more, check out this link:  http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles  It is the most-watched live web-cam on the internet.  You can watch these eagles as they tend to their eggs 24/7.  We became addicted to this site last year.  Currently on the site, we are awaiting egg #3, which may be laid later on today, if past experience holds true.  The eggs take about 35 days to hatch, and while you are getting your team together for The Invitational and collecting your entry money you can watch the process from egg to eaglet.  It gets very interesting once Mom and Dad start bringing food to the nest.  The little ones will leave the nest around mid-June, when you might just be making some eagles of your own!

PS - With apologies to our northern friends of the blog...Aren't you glad you don't live in Iowa?
