Trick or Treat Twist 2013

The Blogette has been busy on the ole laptop, working on giving our Pigskin Picks its annual Halloween flair, and she came up with this twist on our contest for Trick or Treat Week. Pickers from John's Division One (The Treats) and Division Two (The Tricks) were matched up in a blind draw by Teddy and Rudy. These pairs will compete in our Trick or Treat Twist. The number of wins for each pair will be added together. The winning duo will gain an extra 5 points each, along with a bag of their favorite Halloween candy. Week 9 provided some Halloween fun and the Pigskin Pickers had a chance to win some big bonus points. Ernie T took advantage of all the bonus points being offered and cashed in Big Time!! While winning Week 9, he went 11-1, and also won Division 1. AND...He teamed with Chris Johnson and won the Trick or Treat Twist contest. Ernie did pick South Carolina over Missouri however he did make one questionable bet in taking Miami Ohio (the Redhawks) to win their first game of the season. That bad bet cost him the 3 points he won taking USC over Missouri (boo). The Big Three continue at the top of the leaderboard. Brian made it to the #1 spot, tied with the Blogette, with Jamie lurking one point back. There were good scores overall this week, as we had 16 of the 20 pickers playing on the plus side. Krissy Moneghan posted a fine 10 and 2 score which was good for runner-up honors. Mike Evans had a season best 9-3. Steve Price continues to score well, with a nice 9-3 this week. Team Who-Dey, led by Jason Rader, also had a 9-3 score. Another big point man was Chris Johnson (9-3) who tied Mike in division 2 for top honors. He teamed with Ernie T. to scare off the rest of the trick-or-treaters in that contest by 2 points. Ernie raked in 15 bonus points and moved up to solo fourth place, trailing the leaders by just 6 points. Mike Evans, who recently called himself "The Cellar Dweller", earned 10 bonus points and 9 wins - boosting him from number 18 on the Natty Light Leaderbord all the way up to T-10. Chris Johnson snagged 15 bonus points along with 9 wins, giving him 24 points this week. He goes from spot number 14 all the way up to T-7.

Week 10 games will be posted same time (7am) - same place (here on the Blog) tomorrow. We're begging you please to get your picks in ON TIME. Sara and I would really like to thank you Pickers for playing and making this contest so much fun. We have had so many positive comments, and we are killing as far as getting HITS on the Blog. Yes, we plan on having some more contests where you can pick up some more points. It looks like we have some who are taking this real serious, some who think they don't need to study the teams and games, and some well ........I can tell you 3 players who just might be taking this a little more serious now - Mike, Chris and Ernie. These three Movers and Shakers are now looking at closing in on the Big 3 at the top of the Leaderboard!!. Also, The Blogette has led or tied for lead the last 6 weeks...Nice going honey!! I know that Jamie and Brian like you, but they are out to take over and not look back. One final thought, we could have a damn good golf team with Mike, Ernie and Jamie leading the way. We could surely round up someone in the group to caddy and manage the cooler!
