Pigskin Picks Vid Clips 2013
John and The Blogette have picked some thought-provoking clips for your Internet surfing pleasure. These stories struck a chord with us, and we hope you find them note-worthy too!
WEEK ONE:
John - Manziel has made A&M the New Villain:
Ahhh - thoughts from a 30-year-old sports writer....Do you agree with him? Does the world need another jackass? Manziel is certainly not the only victim of inability to manage too much fame and glory too soon, but we at The Blog think we need better role models and less attention on the "bad boys".

The Blogette - A Shared Miracle:
The Blogette has never been much of an Alabama fan, especially after last year's embarrassing beat-down on the Irish. However, if you missed this feature on QB AJ McCarron, you need to click on
the link and "Just Trust". I don't know if I can manage a rousing yell of "Roll Tide", but I can wish the best for McCarron.

Clemson overtakes USC with Best Entrance:
In case you missed it, here are the Clemson Tigers entering the stadium in prime time, led by Dabo Sweeney (what's not to like?). USA Today proclaims it the best entrance in college football. We know - - all you Gamecock fans are rolling your eyes and moaning expletives, but we're just reporting the latest news. Maybe it's time for an update!

The Blogette - Tom Izzo Talks Students out of the Stadium:
Everyone knows the importance of staying out of dangerous weather conditions, but college students need some convincing before coming in out of the rain - and lightning They have to be talked into it.....and perhaps a bribe would help. Check out who does the talking and the bribe involved.

WEEK THREE:
John Picks:

The Blogette Picks: Nebraska Students Honor Nick Pasquale
During Saturday's Nebraska/UCLA pre-game activities, the Husker student section altered a tradition to honor fallen UCLA receiver Nick Pasquale by releasing blue and gold ballons during a moment of silence before the game. Students typically release red balloons following the first Husker scoring drive each game. Pasquale, a walk-on freshman, was killed on Sunday prior to the game. His death was caused by injuries sustained after being hit by a car while crossing the street in his hometown during the Bruins' bye week. The Bruins scored 31 unanswered points in the 2nd half to win 41-21 in a win they dedicated to the "Paq Man". We looked everywhere for a video, but the closest thing was this coverage. Perhaps someone will upload one soon.

WEEK FOUR:
John picks:
Four schools beat their opponents on Saturday by huge margins. Miami, Ohio State, Louisville, and Baylor all scored 70 or more points on their opponents. Was it Cupcake Week? John says Big Time programs should play Big Time opponents.....and the Big Ten agrees. They have banned the practice of scheduling FCS teams in the future. Only two schools have never played a non-Division I team - Notre Dame and Southern Cal. Read on for more details:

The Blogette picks:
Nothing gets in your way if you're 6 foot 2 and 330 pounds....unless it's a helping hand from your teammate! A supportive hand on the back of Florida's Darious Cummings resulted in a trip-up.
